2019 Competition Info

This year’s theme is… well, there isn’t a theme as such, we just ask that all Scarecrows have something red on them.

The deadline for entries is:

22 June 2019

The trail commences on 29th June 2019 and will officially close on 14th July 2019 (However many scarecrows do remain on display for a week or so after this if you’re a bit late to the party!)

Click here for a 2019 Entry Form to print at home – or copies will be available from McColls, The Lion, Traveller’s Rest, The Verdin Club and Boden’s Farm Shop nearer the time.

RULES:

*You can either make a single scarecrow or a collection of scarecrows; please complete 1 entry form per judging consideration. For example, if several members of your household all wish to make individual scarecrows that require judgement on their own merit, then each individual scarecrow will require an entry form/fee. However, if you are making several scarecrows to depict a scene then this will just require a single entry form/fee.

*Each entry will receive a number – this number MUST be displayed clearly on the scarecrow.

*No inappropriate scarecrows!

*Some hay/straw MUST be visible on your scarecrow.

*Please make a sign to accompany your scarecrow to indicate the name/title of your scarecrow.

*Photographs will be taken of all the scarecrows on Sunday 30th June and will be on display at Crow Fair along with a ballot box for voting.

*This year’s top 10 placings will be entirely determined by ‘The People’s Vote’. The results will be announced on Saturday 13th July on the field just before Crowfest. Trophies, rosettes and prize money will be up for grabs. There will also be a ‘Children’s Vote’ via Moulton Primary School/pre-school.

* Scarecrows must be displayed from 9am, Sat 29th June 2019 – Sun 14th July 2019 inclusive.

*Free trail maps will be available to pick up from McColls for the duration of the competition.
